To boost the number of seats available to passengers, Virgin have made over 30 changes to our timetable with 16 brand new additional services, including 14 new weekend services.

This means an extra 13,000 seats in total.

These changes build on the 42 additional weekly London-Edinburgh services they launched earlier this year which added an extra 22,000 seats.

Of course, the 65 new Azuma trains will boost capacity even further, adding 12,200 seats to our fleet and increasing capacity into King’s Cross by 28% during peak times.

Changes to the Sunday services will commence from Sunday 11 December with weekday changes taking effect from Monday 12 December and Saturday changes from Saturday 17 December.  Please be aware that some of these new and amended services will be affected by Network Rail engineering works taking place over the Christmas period and into the New Year.
