The first phase of the work will focus on Dysart Road, at its junctions with Trent Road and Barrowby Gate. Work is due to begin at 6pm on Saturday 14 September and is expected to be completed by 6am on Monday 16 September.

To ensure safety, the junctions will be closed during the repairs, with traffic diverted via the A52 St Augustin Way and either Barrowby Road or the A607 Harlaxton Road. Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained throughout the works, but there may be short-term delays for vehicles.

The second phase of the project will focus on Trent Road, around the junction with Goodliff Road. Work is due to begin on Monday 16 September and is expected to take three days to complete.

The road will be closed throughout the repairs, but to minimise disruption this will be limited to between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day. During the closure, traffic will be diverted via either the A52 Barrowby Road, A52 St Augustin Way and A607 Harlaxton or A607 Harlaxton Road and Swingbridge Road.

Again pedestrian access to properties will be maintained throughout, but there may be short-term delays for vehicles.

Both these roads have suffered significant wear and tear, so it’s vital we get them repaired.

These are both important routes for the town, so we’ve schedule the work to take place outside of the weekday rush hour, which should help minimise the disruption.

That said, there will inevitable be some impact on motorists, so we would ask people to be patient, to leave additional time for their journey and use alternative routes where possible.

We’re confident that the short-term pain will be outweighed by the long-term benefits of these extensive improvements.
